Join us for a magical and musical summertime celebration Kabbalat Shabbat - we'll be celebrating the end of the school year and offering blessings for summer adventures ahead...

What: A peer-led, post-denominational, non-institutional Kabbalat Shabbat experience complete with music, prayer, reflection and connection + Shabbatluck dinner

When: Friday 15 June, 6pm for a 6:30pm start

Where: TBC - hopefully somewhere outside where we can cookout!

We are everyone-friendly and welcome family, friends, allies and spiritual seekers of all ages and faith practices, so please spread the word and help our community grow.

Community-wide Tikkun Leil Shavuot

Shavuot will be celebrated all around the world with all-night learning and Keshira is honoured to be included among local clergy, leaders and thinkers who will be leading study sessions as part of The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh’s Tikkun Leil Shavuot event.

Saturday 19 May - classes beginning at 10pm, 11pm and 12am (come for any or all!)
JCC in Squirrel Hill
Cheesecake and coffee served
Free and open to the community

Kesher Kabbalat Shabbat

You're invited to join Kesher Pittsburgh Kabbalat Shabbat featuring Kirtan Rabbi Andrew Hahn as he joins our usual crew (Brad Pakler, Mike Roth, Tim Fife and Keshira haLev)!


What: A peer-led, post-denominational, non-institutional Kabbalat Shabbat experience complete with music, prayer, reflection and connection + Shabbatluck dinner

When: Friday 18 May, 6pm for a 6:30pm start

Where: The Mitchell Room at Winchester Thurston School, 555 Morewood Avenue (the small room where we usually gather for Kabbalat Shabbat, in the Posner Hall/Old Building)

Light your inner bonfire on this propitious day of singing, dancing, and rejoicing together! Hebrew Kirtan is continual call-and-response, fully participatory chant where short, sacred phrases from the Jewish tradition are treated as powerful, universal meditations. No need to be Jewish or know Hebrew to fully immerse in this experience.

Coastal Roots Welcomes Keshira as Kohenet-in-Residence

Coastal Roots Farm is hosting its first immersive experience on the farm on 26-27 January, 2018 and Keshira is thrilled to be serving as Kohenet-in-Residence.  Setting Kavanah and bringing insights throughout, she is also looking forward to getting to know some of the participants during a Shabbat Deep Dive which she'll be leading on Shabbat afternoon.

Please save the date for our last Kesher Kabbalat Shabbat of 2017 - we'll be coming together for Shabbat and also pre-celebrating Chanukah!

What: A peer-led, post-denominational Kabbalat Shabbat experience complete with music, reflection and connection + Shabbatluck dinner

...and we'll enjoy latkes and other Chanukah treats, sponsored in part by a grant from Shalom!

When: Friday 8 December, 7pm for a 7:30pm start

Where: Eastern Suburbs, TBC

What to bring: 
-An open mind/heart
-A delicious vegetarian dish to contribute to our Shabbat meal
-Donations collected on the night will go to support the incredible work of Our Big Kitchen (whose potato latkes we'll be enjoying)
